New beginnings are hard.

But here we are.

And now’s as good a time as any.

Also, this feels right. Now feels right. Slightly therapeutic for me to write. It’s been a while. And I get inspired to start a newsletter every time I talk to Bharti. And I’ve been sick of Instagram being a bully. And I’ve told enough people to start one. Enough people have told me to start one. It’s a new year, 2024, new beginnings. So it’s about time.

(Aside: You know, I started a children’s newsletter (I think it’s still running) when I was 15? Envisage, it was called. Apt. I ran it for 3 years… it was a lot of fun!)

Here’s what I’m thinking for the newsletter - just a view of a slice of my neurodivergent brain. It’s a bit mad in there… but there’s also a lot of great stuff in there. I’ve been told that people want to listen to what I have to say.

I’ll talk mostly about food and microbes. Lots of fermentation. Some travel. Some mental health stuff (I talk about neurodivergence a lot). Some doggy news, gut and poo stuff. Funny stuff from the internet… Just shit in my brain, you know? Lots of parenthesis, cursing. Verbal diarrhoea (I can never spell that word! It took me 3 whole mins to check and get it right!) out all the data constipation as Candice calls it. (Who’s Candice? Subscribe to find out!).

Once a week sound good? I think that’s not overpromising. It’s do-able. ish. Saturdays? Since that’s already AMA day over on Instagram (on stories). We start there and see where this goes?
